Capitalist wins Golden Slipper for Peter & Paul Snowden

Now celebrating their second Golden Slipper, Triple Crown’s exclusive trainers Peter & Paul Snowden rejoiced with thousands of onlookers at Rosehill Gardens as they watched Capitalist, the son of Written Tycoon, sprint to the line to clinch victory in the world’s richest race for two-year-olds.

The father-and-son training team were under pressure after Capitalist was defeated a fortnight ago in the Todman Stakes, just like their top colt Sepoy in 2011. But, like Sepoy, Capitalist bounced back in a most impressive fashion to add the $3.5 million Golden Slipper to his $2 million Magic Millions victory. That’s why we call them the ‘Grand Final Trainers’!

“It is very special, especially the way it happened…once he got out it was a tremendous feeling and was so good to watch that last 200 metres,” commented Peter Snowden.

It was a great win for the team and we feel very lucky to be a part of such a strong racing stable.

Following the Golden Slipper win, Triple Crown and Peter & Paul Snowden sent Dothraki out to run in the Group 1 Galaxy Handicap with Capitalist’s victorious jockey Blake Shinn in the saddle. Running like a bat out of hell, Dothraki put in an enormous run to place in the prestigious Group 1 event.
