Chavish too good for Gollan team

CHAVISH got life further north off to the perfect start when he took the BenchMark 65 Handicap over 1350m at Ipswich on Wednesday.

On his stable debut for the Tony Gollan team, Chavish was given a gun run from jockey Lee Magorrian, who settled the son of Myboycharlie tracking the leading pair in third.

When kicking with 400m to run, Chavish fought his way to the front and was the strongest in the straight to record an excellent victory at the $10 price.

Trainer Tony Gollan said after the race: “He was ready to go today. He came to me in good order and I spoke to the Snowden Racing team and asked for their advice and they said to be patient with him but he’s in good order, and that’s exactly what I did.

“I had him in on Saturday but that race looked a little tough and we were patient to wait for today and it’s proven the right decision.”

Congratulations to his owners and well done to the Tony Gollan team!
