Den-purring To Go

Gun filly Denpurr lines up in the $200,000 Group 3 Hawkesbury Guineas (1400m) with in-form hoop Glyn Schofield in the saddle tomorrow with a view to snaring her first black type victory.

Jumping from barrier four at the Hawkesbury track, the daughter of Darley sire Denman – whom Peter Snowden trained to multiple Group victories including the Group 1 Golden Rose, presents a nice each way chance in what is a competitive field.

“It’s a field with some depth but she should race well above what the odds suggest and on her best form, she’ll be very competitive,” said Peter Snowden of the three-year-old.

Although scattered showers are forecast throughout the day which won’t assist Denpurr, the track is currently rated a Good 4 – much to the filly’s liking, and the Triple Crown team remain extremely hopeful.

Denpurr has had 10 career starts for 2 wins, 2 seconds, and 1 third with close to $115,000 in prizemoney for connections.
