Emperor’s Way up for the Cup

STAKES WINNER Emperor’s Way looks to capitalise on what’s been an encouraging preparation so far when he steps up to 1900m for the Group 3 Premier’s Cup on Saturday at Rosehill Gardens.

An excellent second to Harper’s Choice in the Premier’ Cup Prelude over 1800m on his last start, Emperor’s Way is stripping a fitter figure with each and every run, and heads into Saturday for his what is his first attempt at Group level, after landing the Listed Randwick City Stakes in his last preparation.

Emperor’s Way takes on 12 rivals for the race, with Andrew Adkins in the saddle.

“It’s a nice race for him on Saturday and the little bit of rain around won’t hurt him,” said co-trainer Peter Snowden.

“There looks to be a smart horse in the race but we’ll worry about our horse and he’s in great shape going into this. He’s had a great preparation and looks as though he should get a nice run from that gate.”
