TRIPLE CROWN’S Group 1 Doomben 10,000 winner Redzel returns to the public eye on Tuesday morning when he steps out in Heat 2 during the trials at Royal Randwick.

Redzel, who won his final two races of last campaign at Group 3 and Group 1 level, faces nine rivals on his return in the 1000m trial, including stablemate Russian Revolution and Bjorn Baker’s unbeaten three-year-old filly Champagne Cuddles.

Redzel hauled in $962k last season on his way to becoming the highest earner for Champion Sire Snitzel, and has his sights firmly set on early season riches including the Group 1 Moir Stakes over 1000m at Moonee Valley on September 29.

“I’ve been really happy with him since his return,” said co-trainer Peter Snowden. “He’s fresh and well and the horse really looks a treat.

“He’s come back strong and we look forward to him stepping out tomorrow at this early stage.”
