Nomination And Acceptance Fees Eliminated For Listed Races

The Australian Turf Club’s (ATC) commitment to reducing costs to Owners will be further demonstrated by the decision to eliminate Nomination and Acceptance fees for all Listed races at ATC tracks as from 1 August 2016.

This is in line with the 2014 Racing NSW Strategic Plan, and will lead to increased participation in these feature events.

“The strong financial performance of the ATC allows us to absorb this revenue stream whilst maintaining current Listed race prizemoney levels to the benefit of all Owners,” stated ATC CEO, Darren Pearce. “We aim to continue to work hard to enable further reductions in costs to Owners in future years.”

Racing NSW Chief Executive, Peter V’landys AM, commended the ATC on its decision: “The removal of nomination and acceptance fees on Listed races is a great start in reducing costs to owners with Listed races capturing the broadest participation among owners of any stakes races.

“It is expected that the elimination of these costs will create an incentive for more horses to at least be nominated in these races and in turn provide a boost to field sizes in these events,” Mr V’landys added.
