Racing NSW scale new prizemoney heights

THE state of racing in New South Wales couldn’t be healthier, with Racing NSW announcing on Wednesday that prizemoney will be increased to unprecedented levels, with $125,000 now to be contested for in a standard metropolitan Saturday race from September 1.

The significant increases in prizemoney, (25% for both Saturday metropolitan and midweek metropolitan) give further benefits and incentives to owners to race horses in the state, with there never being a better time to get involved in racehorse ownership.

The announcement was made alongside the creation of a new race for Everest day, called The Kosciusko, where horses trained by country trainers will compete for a $1.3 Million race in an innovative new concept where punters can purchase tickets to win a Stake of the prizemoney with a competing horse.

Triple Crown’s Redzel will look to defend his title in The Everest on October 13, where it was previously announced that prizemoney would be increased to a whopping $13 Million.

Triple Crown owners have pocketed over $8 Million in prizemoney this year, with an incredible 10 individual Stakes performed horses, and five individual Stakes winners indicating an unrivalled strength and depth of the Triple Crown team!
