Rocky Fights Off Challengers

Rock Mylady, the 4yo son of Road To Rock, produced a great turn-of-foot when needed yesterday and managed to dig in for the fight to repel all challengers to score a narrow but decisive victory at Warwick Farm.

The 1600m event was always going to require a tough and determined effort from Rock Mylady under the 60kgs allotted by the handicapper but he was up to the task. Talented hoop, Kerrin McEvoy, managed to get the 4yo away from the gates well to sit just behind the leaders. He travelled well throughout and it was just a matter of Kerrin being able to find an uninterrupted run under the heavy weight. Rounding the final turn he guided Rock Mylady up the inside of the leaders before sustaining a terrific run to the line to win by a nose.

This gave the Peter and Paul Snowden trained galloper his third career win and second at Warwick Farm. This preparation has all been about getting this talented horse out to a more suitable trip of 2000m or more. To pick up the win over the mile on the way through was a great bonus for his owners on the way through.

Congratulations to his owners: Triple Crown Syndications., Mr R Bensimon, Mr S P Florence, Mr N Wyman, Mr J A Ramage, Mr J K Mcdonald, Mr S Hardy, Mr R L Humberston, Mr L J Zantvoort, Mr D Warren, Mrs L S Hunt, Mr G Mackenzie, Mrs J M Mackenzie, Mrs A J Schofield, Mr J M Saunders, Dirty Double Syndicate.
