This is an exceptional moving colt by exciting first-season sire DISSIDENT

What’s more, the colt has magnificent bloodlines and is from a winning FASTNET ROCK mare.

Much like himself, DISSIDENT is producing real athletes and many consider the sire has all the criteria to be a huge success at stud.

Named Horse of the Year and figuring prominently on the World Thoroughbred Rankings, DISSIDENT won 5 Group 1s – many of them considered to be ‘sire making’ races – and was a stakes winner at 2, 3 & 4 years of age.

He is also by MORE THAN READY (181 stakes winners) stallion SEBRING whose 36 stakes winners include multiple Group 1 winners CRITERION and EGG TART.

Notably, this colt is out of SOUND ADVICE, a winning FASTNET ROCK mare, who is a Champion Sire in his own right, but also a rapidly emerging broodmare sire with his daughters having already produced the Group 1 winners TIVACI and SANTA ANA LANE.

The first foal of SOUND ADVICE, who won her maiden by nearly 4 lengths, she in turn is a ½ sister to 5 other winners including stakes winning sprinter, YESTERDAY’S SONGS and the multiple Group placed RAHVEEL, while the colt’s granddam, SARAH VEE, was a leading sprinter in New Zealand.

Importantly, this colt is bred on the hugely successful MORE THAN READY / DANEHILL match up which, over the years, has produced in excess of 700 winners and Group 1 winners SEBRING, MORE JOYOUS, PRIZED ICON, DREAMAWAY, BENICIO, PERFECTLY READY, MORE THAN SACRED & ENTISAAR.

A Horse of the Year, a Champion Sprinter & Older Horse, a 5-time Group One winning sprinter/miler, a World Thoroughbred Ranking of 121 and son of renowned sire SEBRING!

DISSIDENT is unquestionably one of the most exciting young sires in Australia. A stakes winner on debut as a 2YO (beating subsequent Group 2 winner KUROSHIO), DISSIDENT – at 3 – finished a neck second to now boom sire ZOUSTAR in the Group 1 Golden Rose, won the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes and captured the first of his 5 Group 1s in the Randwick Guineas.

The next season however, DISSIDENT peeled off victories in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes, the Group 1 Makybe Diva (defeating FAWKNER), finished a lip 2nd in the Group 1 Rupert Clarke, won the Group 1 CF Orr, ran 3rd in the Group 1 Futurity and finished his illustrious career with a victory – defeating both Caulfield Guineas winner WANDJINA and Champion Sprinter CHAUTAUQUA – in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes.

Accordingly, DISSIDENT was named Australian Horse of the Year.

A grandson of the highly influential MORE THAN READY (181 stakes winners), DISSIDENT’s sire SEBRING has produced 36 stakes winners including 4-time Group 1 winner CRITERION and the multiple Group 1 winner EGG TART.

DISSIDENT, meanwhile, is out of the stakes placed, city winning 2YO DIANA’S SECRET with the immediate female pedigree producing a host of stakes winners on both sides of the Tasman.

SEBRING/MORE THAN READY, not surprisingly, has worked exceptionally well with DANEHILL-line mares.

Take our ‘advice’ this is a very exciting pedigree!

This colt is the first foal of the former Lindsay Park trained, SOUND ADVICE who – in her brief career – won her maiden by nearly 3 lengths. Notably, Sound Advice is by the Champion Sire FASTNET ROCK whose daughters are really marking their mark in the breeding barn as he is the broodmare sire of Group 1 winners TIVACI and SANTA ANA LANE, with a close to 10% stakes horses to runners strike rate.

What’s more, Sound Advice is a ½ sister to 5 other winners including Michael Moroney’s outstanding stakes winning sprinter, YESTERDAY’S SONGS, and the multiple Group placed RAHVEEL (2nd to ATLANTIC JEWEL in Group 2 Wakeful Stakes etc.).

Sound Advice’s dam, meanwhile, was the leading Kiwi sprinter, SARAH VEE whose stakes winning career was also highlighted by placings in the Group 1 NZ Two Thousand Guineas and Group 1 Ellerslie Sires’ Produce Stakes at 2.

This colt also brings in the all-important DANZIG cross while the match up with MORE THAN READY and DANEHILL has produced over 700 winners including DISSIDENT’s sire, SEBRING, plus MORE JOYOUS, PRIZED ICON & MIRACLES OF LIFE etc.
