THE HORSE

Looks, temperament, movement, exciting first season sire, great ‘happening’ family … this colt was a must have. He literally ticked every box!

We were always going to be having a close look at this colt given that he’s a ½ brother to our very own recent stakes winner, MILITARY ZONE, whom the camp believe has Group 1 potential.

Yet, for all that, we were absolutely blown away when we inspected him at the sales. He was everything we’d hoped for an more … the best colt in the entire sale. He looks so much like his sire, KERMADEC who has all the makings of a great sire, while there’s also quite a bit of MILITARY ZONE in him as well. Importantly, his other close relations include a Group 1 Golden Rose winner (AND sire) TOORAK TOFF, along with Group 2 winning 2YO SCARLET RAIN.

KERMADEC

Once you get to see KERMADEC’s first yearlings, you’ll know why everyone is so excited.

And why shouldn’t they be … not only is KERMADEC throwing them to type, the horse was a genuine racetrack star, winning the time honoured Group 1 Doncaster Handicap at 3 (against all comers in what was only his second campaign) and would go on at 4 to win the Group 1 George Main Stakes.

Along the way, KERMADEC would capture the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (defeating subsequent Group 1 winner STRATUM STAR) at only his 3rd start, plus run placings in the Group 1 George Ryder, Group 1 Canterbury Stakes and Group 1 All Aged Stakes, while running WINX to just over a length in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes.

What’s more, KERMADEC is by the highly influential TEOFILO who has produced 83 stakes winners of $81 million, including HAPPY CLAPPER (another Doncaster winner!), 3-time Group 1 winner HUMIDOR, dual Group 1 winning miler, PALENTINO and Group 1 Queensland Derby winner SONNTAG.

And while KERMADEC is by one of Europe’s most influential sires, his pedigree is purely ‘down under’ with dam, HY FUJI and granddam HYSTERIAL both winning stakes races in Sydney, while close relations TRIPLE ELEGANCE, Triple Crown’s MOSS TRIP and SHOREHAM were all Group winners.

Trainer

Peter Snowden was appointed Head Trainer of the Australian leg of world-class breeding and racing operation, Darley (now Godolphin) in 2008, a role in which he dominated Sydney racing for six years. During his time at Darley he enjoyed unmatched success winning the Sydney Trainer’s Premiership, notching 29 Group 1’s and 214 other stakes wins, amassing $76,743,659.

Throughout his career, Peter has proved himself a superior trainer of 2yo’s. In May 2016 he won the world’s most valuable and prestigious juvenile race – the Golden Slipper – for a third time with CAPITALIST, adding to the list of multiple wins in the Blue Diamond, Sire’s Produce, T.J Smith and Champagne Stakes. In 2011, he oversaw a clean sweep of every juvenile Group 1 race, with SEPOY (Blue Diamond, Golden Slipper), HELMET (Sires’ Produce Stakes, Champagne Stakes) and BENFICA(T.J. Smith), a feat that had never before been accomplished.

Peter, also known as the modern day King of the Caulfield Guineas, has demonstrated himself as a superb developer of a horse into their third year, having won Australia’s most coveted 3yo race three times over the last eight years. Peter is rightly regarded as the most astute trainer in the industry.

Paul Snowden commenced his career as a track work rider before graduating to Assistant Trainer for Darley, where he ran the Melbourne stables with outstanding success. Paul prepared approximately 80-100 winners each season and oversaw SEPOY’S clean sweep of Melbourne’s 3yo and Open class sprinting events including Group 1 wins in the Manikato and Coolmore Stud Stakes.

Peter & Paul commenced their training partnership in 2014 and within their first 12 months recorded a remarkable five Group 1 wins including Caulfield Guineas winner SHOOTING TO WIN, as well as PRIDE OF DUBAI, HOT SNITZEL & MIRACLES OF LIFE. Peter & Paul have produced an endless list of outstanding racehorses including REDZEL, CAPITALIST, SEPOY, DENMAN, SHOOTING TO WIN, HOT SNITZEL, FORENSICS, PRIDE OF DUBAI, PEGGY JEAN, GUELPH, EARTHQUAKE, HELMET, EPAULETTE, SKILLED, CHARLIE BOY, MENTAL, COMPLACENT, BENFICA, BEADED, DOTHRAKI, INVADER, TYCOON TARA  and RUSSIAN REVOLUTION etc.

THE SYNDICATE

The syndicate is being formed at $35,990 per 10% share or $17,995 per 5% including GST.

The share price includes the purchase of the horse, breaking-in, Golden Slipper & Golden Rose nomination fee, Inglis Race Series fee, agistment, transport, ASIC compliance, insurance, pre-training, training, professional indemnity insurance, transport, vet, farrier, registration fees and all expenses prior to 1 May 2019.

Miscellaneous

1. a) Naming Rights – Each owner will be entitled to the submission of one name suggestion for the horse per 5% shareholding. Once all shares have been sold Triple Crown will call for your name suggestions. A vote will then be conducted to select the name to be submitted to the Registrar of Racehorses.
