Pride Of Dubai ex Dizzy Diva colt

Horse Details

  • Outstanding prospect by a multiple 2yo Group 1 winning sire from a family that consistently throws Group 1 winners!
  • A truly exciting colt from a family renowned for producing exceptional racehorses. The colt is a brilliant mover … a natural athlete and looks to be the next cab off the rank from this family’s highly successful production line!Chris Ward.
  • This colt is by the Peter & Paul Snowden trained and first season sire PRIDE OF DUBAI, a dual Group 1 winner at 2 who is from a ¾ sister to Champion Sire INVINCIBLE SPIRIT (sire of Australian sire phenomenon I AM INVINCIBLE).
  • First foal from a mare closely related to a 2017 Group 1 VRC Oaks winner, a Group 1 AJC Oaks winner, a Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner and a Hong Kong Horse of the Year!
  • A genuine stallion prospect.
  • To be trained by world renowned pair of Peter and Paul Snowden, trainers of Triple Crown’s 2017 ($10 million) and 2018 ($13 million) The Everest winner REDZEL, 2016 Golden Slipper winner CAPITALIST, EPAULETTE, RUSSIAN REVOULTION, SHOOTING TO WIN, SEPOY, PRIDE OF DUBAI, HOT SNITZEL, FORENSICS, PEGGY JEAN, DENMAN, GUELPH, EARTHQUAKE, HELMET, SKILLED, PURPLE, MENTAL, COMPLACENT, & BENFICA.

This first yearlings of dual Group 1 winning 2YO PRIDE OF DUBAI have be hugely popular at 2019 sales and given the athleticism of this colt, it’s not hard to work out why!

PRIDE OF DUBAI was an outstanding talent as a racehorse and he is also magnificently bred. He is also by WINX’s sire STREET CRY (who has 7 individual sire sons who have produced Group 1 winners) and is out of a ¾ sister to another Champion Sire in INVINCIBLE SPIRIT (sire of I AM INVINCIBLE). His racetrack ability combined with his bloodlines make him a remarkable stallion prospect.

This colt really caught our eye in Melbourne with the way he is conformed and moves. He looks a ready-made racehorse. He certainly presents as an early runner and importantly, when you look at his pedigree, we’d expect him to train on at three (particularly given his close relationship to Oaks winners PINOT and DIZELLE, along with Hong Kong Horse of the Year, VENGEANCE OF RAIN and Group 2 winner OLD NORTH).

This is the first foal of a STARSPANGLEDBANNER mare, whilst his granddam is a stakes winner by ENCOSTA DE LAGO, his 3rd dam is a Group 1 winner by ZABEEL and his 4th dam is a Group 1 Blue Diamond winner by DANEHILL! This colt’s bloodlines are exceptional.

So much to be ‘proud’ about … anywhere in the world!

PRIDE OF DUBAI would prove to be one of the best 2YOs in the past decade with a brilliant victory in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes before following up with an equally impressive performance in the Group 1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes. The only horse ever to pull off the double! Even more importantly, Sires’ Produce winners: PIERRO, HELMET, MANHATTAN RAIN and SEBRING have all gone on to sire Group 1 winners of their own in the last 2 years!

This is the first crop of yearlings by PRIDE OF DUBAI who has proven to be very popular and well supported by the breeders in his three seasons at Coolmore Stud and, given he seems to have a habit of producing quality athletes like himself, they have been incredibly sought after at 2019 sales.

PRIDE OF DUBAI is a son of WINX’s Champion sire STREET CRY (126 stakes winners & 21 Group 1 winners) who has 7 individual sons who have sired Group 1 winners!

What’s more, PRIDE OF DUBAI is a ½ brother to South African Champion ENAAD and Melbourne stakes winner AL ANEED, and is out of a ¾ sister to yet another Champion Sire in INVINCIBLE SPIRIT (118 stakes winners and sire of Australian superstar stallion I AM INVINCIBLE). He is also closely related to leading 2YO Sire, KODIAC.

This is the first foal of a mare from a genuine Group 1 family with an ideal blend of sprinting and Classic performers. This family is all class!

DIZZY DIVA’s mum DIZLAGO was an outstanding performer herself, winning the Listed Ethereal Stakes at Caulfield at 3, having earlier won easily in town as a 2YO.

DIZLAGO, in turn, is a ½ sister to American owned, Group 1 VRC Oaks winner, PINOT, who had also earlier won the Ethereal (since upgraded to Group 3).

DIZLAGO’s dam, meanwhile, is DIZELLE, the 3-time Group winner (including the Group 1 AJC Oaks) and multiple Group placed mare who produced 4 stakes horses and is out of the Group 1 Blue Diamond winner DANELAGH (note … this colt’s sire, PRIDE OF DUBAI also won the Blue Diamond!).

DANELAGH would produce 7 winners and is also the dam of Hong Kong Horse of the Year VENGEANCE OF RAIN (10 wins) and granddam of Godolphin’s Group 2 winner OLD NORTH.

Interestingly, DIZZY DIVA’s broodmare sire is STARSPANGLEDBANNER, while the 2nd dam is by ENCOSTA DE LAGO, the 3rd dam by ZABEEL and the 4th dam by DANEHILL – exceptional bloodlines!
