Trial Wins for Triple Crown Autumn Carnival Contenders

A number of Triple Crown’s BMW Sydney Autumn Carnival contenders had their final hit outs at the Rosehill trials this morning, and the team couldn’t be happier with their stars as they embark on a very exciting few months of racing.

Hot Snitzel (Snitzel ex Flames Of Paris) trialled for the second time this preparation (over 900m), and after a soft trial 2 weeks prior, claimed an easy ½ length win while remaining under a hold by Nash Rawiller. Rawiller commented that Hot Snitzel felt terrific and trainer Gerald Ryan couldn’t be happier with the 5YO Snitzel gelding, commenting that he is the strongest he has ever looked this preparation. Hot Snitzel now heads toward the Group 3 Sebring Stakes at Rosehill on Golden Slipper Day (5 April 2013), the very same race he won in dominant style last year.

Also trialling for the second time this preparation was Dothraki (Mossman ex Volantis). Winning the Listed Hilton Hotels & Resorts Stakes over 1400m at Flemington last start, Dothraki has derived great benefit from his first trip away from Sydney and has returned to the stable a stronger, more mature colt this preparation. He won his 900m trial heat impressively yesterday with Rawiller on board and very happy with the 3YO’s performance. Rawiller reported that Dothraki’s action has never been better on the track and the entire team are looking forward to him resuming, most likely in the $250,000 Listed Gosford Guineas over 1200m at Gosford on Sunday, 6 April 2014.

Last start Listed Restricted Inglis Classic winner Peggy Jean(Myboycharlie ex Lady Of Love) also made an appearance at Rosehill yesterday, stepping out in a 900m trial following a brief freshen up. The 2YO filly oozed class and impressed the team with her relaxed demeanour settling at the tail of the field, before cruising home easily down the straight and dominating her rivals to win the heat by 1 length under a hold. Her Autumn Carnival campaign will kick off with the $175,000 Group 2 Magic Night Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill on Saturday, 29 March 2014, and the entire team can’t wait to have her back at the track on race day!

Also trialing yesterday were Triple Crown 2YO’s Brazen Moss (Mossman ex Hussyanna) and Standoubt (Not A Single Doubt ex Miss Dodwell), who finished third and first in their respective heats and are now ready to head to the races, as well as Lonace who finished a very narrow second when working to the line with Group 2 winner Ninth Legion.
