Successful start to the 2015 Magic Millions Yearling Sale for Triple Crown
The Magic Millions Yearling Sale kicked off at the balmy Gold Coast today and Triple Crown Syndications’ Chris and Michael Ward were quick off the mark to secure their first yearlings of 2015.
This sale has produced the likes of Group 2 Danehill Stakes winner CHARLIE BOY (Myboycharlie ex Maritime) for Triple Crown in recent years, and has provided the astute judges with terrific value from promising first season sires.
In conjunction with exclusive training partners Peter and Paul Snowden, the brothers picked up Lot 49 today from the Rosemont Stud draft for $180,000.
The son of popular first season sire SMART MISSILE is a lovely, strong physical specimen who looks the type to get up and run early. He will certainly have every chance to do so under the expert guidance of Snowden Racing.
This colt is from the RED RANSOME mare ADVANCE TO GO, a half-sister to Group 1 Queensland Oaks winner MISS DANEHILL and PENTASTIC.
Another Group 1 Queensland Oaks winner nestled within his pedigree is the great JOIE DENISE. As the dam of four-time Group One winner TUESDAY JOY, plus AJC Australian Oaks winner SUNDAY JOY she requires no introduction and certainly adds a supreme level of class to the pedigree of this colt.
Also purchased on the opening day of the sale was the elegant SNITZEL filly from the three-quarter sister to the dam of SHARNEE ROSE, and half-sister to the dam of REWAAYA, in BUKHOOR.
This leggy filly oozes class and was consigned as Lot 125 by Turangga Farm. Knocked down for $135,000, the Triple Crown team are expecting her to be very popular with fans of their Group 2 winning mare FLYING SNITZEL with whom she bares a striking resemblance.
Both yearlings are BOBS eligible and will be paid up for the lucrative $11.1 million Magic Millions Race Series.
