Belesron scores by 4 lengths on debut
Triple Crown’s Belesron (Bel Esprit ex. Miss Theron (NZ)) commenced his career in robust fashion on Saturday, claiming the Graincorp 3YO Maiden Plate by a commanding 4 lengths.
Jason Benbow gave the Peter Moody trained colt a stellar ride which saw him fly the gates and dictate the speed at the head of the field. Upon turning into the brief Murtoa straight Belesron strode out to put daylight between him and the field and secure the race beyond doubt.

Having had his first jump out on the track this preparation the big Bel Esprit colt has shown marked improvement from first to second trial and subsequently to his race debut. “He was a little slow off the mark in his first trial and obviously still learning what it was all about” said Chris Ward of Triple Crown.
“Jason (Benbow) did a great job switching him on in his second trial for a much better performance and it was fantastic to see him then take that to the races”
Belesron, who was a $75,000 purchase by Chris and Michael Ward, was aquired from the Eliza Park draft at the annual Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale where so many top Triple Crown performers before him have also been sourced. He could well be the next promising runner to emerge from the sale for the boutique syndication company, and is certainly one to watch from the Triple Crown stable.
Congratulations to all connections on a brilliant debut!
