Belesron strikes at 40% race win rate
An impressive win from Triple Crown Syndications’ Belesron (Bel Esprit ex Miss Theron (NZ)) at Sandown yesterday saw owners notch up their fourth experience in the winner’s circle with this gelding.
The 4yo trained by Peter Moody has now registered four wins and a second placing from just 10 career starts for his Triple Crown owners, many of whom are dipping their toes in to horse racing for the very first time.
From a wide gate Belesron was quickly away in the 1000m event on the Hillside track at Sandown, and jockey Luke Nolan was able to find cover behind a couple of runners just one off the rail. This put him in an ideal position and after turning for home he angled Belesron out into clear running and began to wind him up. With 300m left to go Luke pushed the accelerator on Belesron who took off as if he had a turbo charged engine in his hindquarters. This impressive turn of foot shot him to the front of the field and left his competitors unable to catch him as they crossed the finish line.
The Triple Crown syndicate collected $21,000 for the win and a lovely silver plate to add to the trophy cabinet. Being only his first up run this preparation the entire team is looking forward with great anticipation to what lies ahead for Belesron this campaign.
The son of Bel Esprit was purchased and syndicated by Chris and Michael Ward from the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale. The Ward brothers are currently in Melbourne for the very same sale this week, and are confident of securing a number of quality runners just like Belesron.
Congratulations to all connections! Be sure to keep an eye on the Triple Crown Facebook, Twitter and website to stay up to date with all of the team’s purchases from the upcoming Melbourne Premier Sale.
