Flying Bjorn Baker scores first Metro treble

IF you had seen his reaction you would know what it meant to him. Bjorn Baker is a trainer on top of his game and after Collateral secured a hat-trick of wins himself to give Baker a first Metro treble in the penultimate race at Rosehill on Saturday, a roar of jubilation could be heard followed by euphoric high-fives to any punter he encountered profiting from his success!

But then that’s just Bjorn. A people’s person who adds a little colour to each raceday with his presence!

Collateral is not the only runner to have damaged the bookies in recent weeks. Tough filly Test The World got the ball rolling as she led from the front to pull out yet another gutsy display to win her fourth race on the trot.

Sir Plush followed in Race 7 with a dominant performance in the 1100m Schweppes Handicap, quashing any fears both trainer and punters had on his ability to get through the heavy 8 surface. And as Collateral stalked the well-backed favourite Carzoff before powering past to get up on the line in the very next race, Bjorn celebrated in style.

Whether it’s sprinters, milers or stayers, seasoned campaigners or talented juveniles, Bjorn Baker is getting phenomenal results. Having tallied 25 Metropolitan winners last season, he currently sits on 34 for the 2016/17 campaign as he makes further inroads into Sydney’s elite ranks.
