Bjorn Baker Stable Visit

Triple Crown owners braved a gloomy early morning start on Saturday and headed to Warwick Farm to see their 2YO filly, Manhattan Blaze (Manhattan Rain ex Maiden On Fire).

Trained by Bjorn Baker, Manhattan Blaze is among the first crop of 2YOs for the Group 1 winning, half-brother to Redoute’s Choice, Manhattan Rain.

This is her first experience in the stable and she is currently being educated on the track, as well as around the stable and at the barriers.

The Triple Crown team watched her work at ¾ pace and then run home the final furlong on Saturday, and although it’s only early days she worked well and is looking at home on the track.

Manhattan Blaze worked with fellow Triple Crown filly by Encosta De Lago ex Tapestry, and preceding them was Dothraki’s 2YO half-brother, the Big Brown colt out of Volantis who Triple Crown also purchased earlier this year.Manhattan+Blaze+working+Warwick+Farm+161113

Following her work on the track Manhattan Blaze was placed on the walker to cool down and owners had the opportunity to gain feedback from her track work rider.

Bjorn kindly showed the team around his stable where they met some of the Bjorn Baker Racing stars, and also gave great insight into some of the finer aspect of his training regime.

After a quick photo op with Manhattan Blaze and discussion of the days racing ahead, both the team and Bjorn’s runners for the day were off to prepare for a great day of racing at Rosehill.

Big thanks must go to Bjorn and his staff for their hospitality; a fantastic morning was had by all!
