Cavalry Rose In Foal to Pierro
Triple Crown Syndications received the exciting news this week that recently retired stable sweetheart, Cavalry Rose, has been scanned in foal to Coolmore Stud freshman Pierro.
Pierro was an incredibly talented racehorse, who at two remarkably won all three legs of the Triple Crown, the Gr.1 Golden Slipper, Gr 1. Sires Produce Stakes and Gr.1 Champagne Stakes, as well as all of his lead up races heading into the juvenile championship. Pierro then trained on to pick up multiple Group 1 victories as a 3YO and was retired to Coolmore Stud in the Hunter Valley earlier this year.
Cavalry Rose (Charge Forward ex Alberton Rose (NZ)) was purchased by Chris and Michael Ward from the Inglis Classic Sale Widdden Stud draft in 2011. Trained by Gerald Ryan she won the Inglis Classic Race on debut as a 2YO and subsequently went on to win her second race, and place at Group 2 level in the 1200m Magic Night Stakes.
The big hearted filly also won the Group 3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes at Caulfield and earned a total of $397,750 prizemoney for her owners before an untimely suspensory ligament injury cut her racing career short.
Now in the next phase of her career, and expecting her first foal by Pierro in mid-October 2014, the Triple Crown team has no doubts Cavalry Rose will prove just as successful as a broodmare as she was on the track.
In further baby news, Triple Crown was delighted to learn of the recent arrival of multiple stakes winner Patronyme’s third foal at Newgate Farm.
Following her retirement from racing in the Triple Crown colours in 2010 Patronyme has produced a colt by Fastnet Rock and a filly by Eliza Park stallion Wanted. This year’s addition is lovely filly by young Newgate Farm sire Foxwedge.
