Charlie Boy en route to $1M Magic Millions 3YO Guineas
Triple Crown’s Charlie Boy (Myboycharlie ex Maritime) has recently returned to the Gerald Ryan stable at Rosehill following his Group 2 Danehill Stakes win last preparation and a well-deserved spell.
Having completed his pre-training at Muskoka Farm the 3YO is coming to hand nicely for Ryan who has his next target set firmly in his sights.
Due to trial at Rosehill on Christmas eve, Charlie Boy’s program will then see him placed ideally in a second trial 10 days after, again at his home track, before taking on the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas at the Gold Coast on Saturday, 11 January 2014.
The youngster is no stranger to a trip away, having been successful in Melbourne over the Spring Carnival, and is also adept to handling the pressure of a big race day with all three legs of the 2YO Triple Crown added to his resume during the Autumn.
Earning just shy of $300,000 for his Triple Crown owners during his career thus far, a piece of the cool $1 million on offer at the Gold Coast has the team excited and ready to head north for another exhilarating carnival race day experience.
Currently ranked third in the order of entry (see below) for the 3YO feature Charlie Boy is preceded only by fellow Group 2 winner, and Golden Slipper placegetter Sweet Idea, as well as stakes winner Missy Longstocking.
With great first up form and proven ability over 1400m the red and white Triple Crown colours are sure to be featured when Charlie Boy lines up on the Gold Coast’s most lucrative and prestigious annual race day.
