Chris & Michael continue to source quality yearlings on the Gold Coast

Chris and Michael Ward continued to source value from what is a proving to be a strong Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, adding another two yearlings to the Triple Crown Syndications stable on Friday.

From the draft of Widden Stud, the Wards purchased the bay Seopy filly from North Pole Dancer and the family of Group 1 winner and Champion 3 year-old filly Samantha Miss. Consigned as Lot 490, this filly boasts a pedigree saturated in black type, featuring exceptional racehorses such as Cronus, who won at Group 1, 2 and 3 level in over half of his career starts, as well as Pravda and Pravana.

“She is a magnificent filly who we were really keen on so we are very pleased to have secured her” Triple Crown director Michael Ward beamed as the hammer fell.

The filly will be trained by Peter and Paul Snowden as part of their exclusive partnership with Triple Crown. She is eligible to be nominated for  the lucrative NSW BOBS Bonus scheme, and will be paid up for the Magic Millions Race series, now worth $11.1million. As will the colt the brothers picked up a little later in the day.

By two time Champion two year old sire and Vinery Stud resident More Than Ready (USA), this outstanding colt hails from the family of Group 1 winner Gold Trail and is out of a mare very well known to Triple Crown, Prerequisite. The Charge Forward mare, who is a half sister to Gold Trail, raced in the Triple Crown colours, providing her owners with some early thrills as a winner at two. She then raced on at Listed and Group 2 level, and Triple Crown are thrilled to have secured her second foal.
