A Diamond In The Rough At Kembla Grange

Three year old Diamond Fever (High Chapparal ex Dane Ripper) scored an impressive win at only her second career start at Kembla Grange for Triple Crown Syndications and Bjorn Baker on Saturday, following a close second placing on debut.

With Adam Hyeronimus on board the beautifully bred daughter of Cox Plate winner Dane Ripper sprung the gates and never looked in doubt on the Heavy 8 surface.

“Once I squeezed her at the top of the straight she just went and they were never going to run her down” Hyeronimus reported to owners.

“She just does everything right”.

Diamond Fever was purchased by Triple Crown Directors Chris and Michael Ward from Coolmore Australia at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale. The sale has proven a highly successful hunting ground for the brothers over the years where they have previously acquired the likes of Group 1 winner Hot Snitzel and Group 2 winner Flying Snitzel.

Baker is looking forward to progressing Diamond Fever from Saturday’s Maiden Plate to a Benchmark 65 event at Warwick Farm on July 15.

“She’s improving all the time, I couldn’t be happier with her and she’s only going to get better” he commented.

Congratulations to all connections!
