Further Black Type for Triple Crown’s Super Consistent Stakes Performer Hot Snitzel

Triple Crown Syndications cheered home their third individual stakes performer of the Spring Carnival on Saturday when Hot Snitzel ran a fantastic race to finish second in the Group 3 Kevin Heffernan Stakes at Caulfield.

Amongst a field of accomplished runners Hot Snitzel missed the kick slightly from his wide barrier, which saw him posted three wide facing the breeze for most of the 1200m trip. He ran a tough race to the line however, and put his enormous heart on show to cross the line in second place and defeat the likes of Group 1 winner Platelet.

Piloted expertly by Nash Rawiller, Hot Snitzel’s second place was added to an impressive list of black type success acquired throughout his racing career. Now a 5YO, the Gerald Ryan trained gelding by Snitzel has accrued prizemoney of $764,550 for his owners, and has either won or been placed in no less than eleven stakes races (see below).

Hot Snitzel has provided the thrill of winning for his owners on some of Australia’s biggest race days, and has now paid for himself more than twelve times over as a $60,000 purchase by Chris and Michael Ward from the Bellerive Stud draft of the 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.
