Hot form-line for Hot Snitzel
By Neale Donnelley
Punters have latched onto the obvious form-line with Gerald Ryan’s Hot Snitzel in tomorrow’s Group 3 $150,000 Sebring Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens.
Hot Snitzel is first-up in the Sebring, but he’s coming off a second in the Group 3 Heffernan Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on November 16, behind none other than Lankan Rupee.
Since that run Lankan Rupee has stamped himself Australia’s in-form sprinter with easy wins in the Oakleigh Plate and Newmarket Handicap.
Hot Snitzel has already won six of 25 and more than $750,000 in stakes-money and he looks ideally placed from barrier five with Nash Rawiller on board tomorrow.
He has been $11 into $7.50 with the only other firmer in the race the Joe Pride-trained That’s A Good Idea, who is the favourite at $3 – in from $3.20.
That’s A Good Idea looked a good-thing beaten last time when third behind Kencella in the Maurice McCarten Stakes after missing the start hopelessly.
In a race dominated by the on-pace runners, That’s A Good Idea made up a huge amount of ground to run third and he hasn’t been forgotten by punters going into the Sebring Stakes tomorrow.
Best of luck to all of Hot Snitzel’s Triple Crown owners!
