Hot Snitzel ready for Group One Doomben 10,000

Hugh Bowman has a better record on Hot Snitzel than any other jockey and trainer Gerald Ryan hopes that gives the gelding an edge in his Group One mission.
Bowman will make a flying visit from Hong Kong to ride the five-year-old in Saturday’s Doomben 10,000.
Hot Snitzel is a $21 chance ahead of the declaration of the final field but Ryan says he believes Bowman can help him relax and not over-race as he did in the BTC Cup under Nash Rawiller.
At his previous start Bowman, who is riding on a three-month contract in Hong Kong, steered Hot Snitzel to victory in the Hall Mark Stakes at Randwick to rack up a third win for the combination.
“All is well with Hot Snitzel,” Ryan said.
“He usually takes one run when he goes away from home to get to his best.
“He over-raced last time but hopefully Hugh can get him to relax.”
After the Hall Mark Stakes, Bowman said the key was to keep Hot Snitzel in his rhythm.
Rebel Dane heads the market ahead of Queensland’s favourite son Buffering who has undergone chiropractic treatment on the poll area of his head since his BTC Cup third.
Ryan has entered Angel Of Mercy for the Lord Mayor’s Cup (1615m) on Saturday’s Brisbane program for what could be her final race.
The mare, who is catalogued for auction at the upcoming sale on the Gold Coast, has recovered well from her five lengths eighth in the Doomben Cup(2000m), her first start beyond 1800 metres since she ran in the 2012 Queensland Oaks.
