Invincible Lad begins Blue Diamond path

I AM INVINCIBLE juvenile Invincible Lad will take on the Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield on Saturday, with a view to targeting Melbourne’s most prestigious prize for two-year-old’s, the $1.5 Million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes on February 24.

The colt has had one start to date, in the Listed Breeders’ Plate at Randwick on September 30, and recently caught the eye with a trial win at Werribee on January 15.

Up against seven rivals on Saturday, Invincible Lad will jump from barrier 3 with Mark Zahra in the saddle for the Listed grade race over 1000m.

Co-trainer Peter Snowden, who oversaw that trial at Werribee, is delighted with his progress to date.

“I’ve been really happy with his work since his trial at Werribee,” said Snowden. “He’s done everything right and we’re there to have a go.

“This looks a nice for him. I’m happy with the horse and he’s always shown a bit of promise. Hopefully if he can demonstrate that on the racetrack on Saturday he’ll be in with a good chance.”
