Kentucky Fireball (Northern Meteor ex Lady Gretchen (NZ)) impressed with a start to finish lead for Triple Crown Syndications and Nick Olive to score a three length victory in the Class 2 Handicap over 1200 metres at Canberra on Friday.
With a now two from two strike rate when Michael Travers jumps on board, the pair entered the gates paying $14 on Friday with punters duly rewarded.
Springing from barrier 5 the son of Northern Meteor took the lead of the 13 horse field and sustained it to the post.
“He travelled really well before kicking clear and putting a nice gap on the field to win by three lengths”
“I think we have a bit of fun ahead of us this preparation” said Triple Crown Director Chris Ward.
Unsuccessful in the wet previously, the soft going proved no obstacle for the four-year-old gelding who picked up an additional $10,000 prizemoney for his Triple Crown owners.
Congratulations to all connections!
