Missile Mantra ready to fire at Flemington

Spring is in full bloom and a cracking card at Flemington tomorrow sees Triple Crown’s MISSILE MANTRA line up in the Group 2 Lexus Rose Of Kingston Stakes.

Already a winner at Listed level, Missile Mantra is seeking her first Group win having come agonisingly close to elite level glory in last year’s Thousand Guineas.

The daughter of Smart Missile tackles 1400m for the first time this preparation and is set to encounter her preferred good track, so looks to have plenty in her favour as she continues her path towards the Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes on October 31.

“She’s going well and up to 1400m now is getting back to her right trip on a track that should suit her,” said co-trainer Peter Snowden.

“The 1200m was too short for her last start and her work has been great, so we should see the real Missile Mantra tomorrow.”

Fresh from his Group 1 success in last week’s Moir Stakes, the in-form Damian Lane will once again partner Missile Mantra in tomorrow’s $300,000 contest.
