Moss Trip impressive in trial win en-route to Dane Ripper

MOSS TRIP was full of running when winning heat 4 of the Randwick trials on Monday morning, with the Group 3 winner bouncing of the walls ahead of her assignment in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes at Doomben on June 9.

The three-year-old continues to show she is in flying form, winning the trial by three quarters of a length to Gibraltar Girl and Rillito, with that trio pulling a further five lengths clear of the field.

Moss Trip was devastating in winning the Inglis Guineas at Scone on her most recent start, and looks to take further strides forward in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes over 1350m at Doomben, which can boast recent winners of subsequent Group 1 runner-up Prompt Response, and multiple Group 1 winner Cosmic Endeavour.

Co-trainer Peter Snowden was impressed with her trial display. “She trialed really good,” said Snowden. “She was fresh and this trial will put her spot on for the Dane Ripper on Saturday week.

“It was a nice soft trial today and she’s in really good order ahead of her trip to Brisbane.”

On a busy morning for Triple Crown trialists, the Stakes placed 2YO Invincible Lad showed a dynamic turn of foot to take Heat 14, with Stakes placed 3YO Island Missile working well to the line to finish second in Heat 8.
