Moss Trip poised for Group 2 return

GROUP 3 winning mare Moss Trip makes her eagerly anticipated return to the track on Saturday as she takes on the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes at Rosehill.

Moss Trip, the highest prizemoney earner for her sire Mossman in the 2017/18 season, returns after a fruitful preparation in which she she claimed the Group 3 James Carr Stakes at Randwick, and blew the field away in the valuable Inglis Scone Guineas before a third placing in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes in Brisbane.

The four-year-old geared up for this assignment with an eye-catching trial win at Rosehill on February 11, and faces a strong field of 11 rivals including recent Breeders Classic winner Champagne Cuddles.

Peter Snowden has been pleased with her progress since being back in work, and is looking forward to a good run on Saturday.

“She’s returned really well and I’ve been pleased with everything that she’s done,” said Snowden. “She’ll take race fitness from the run tomorrow and whatever she does she’ll improve off it but she’ll be very competitive.

“She’s got a nice draw and the wet track won’t hurt her chances. She’s up against a lot of good horses tomorrow but her trial was really good. She’ll be competitive tomorrow but will improve for the run.”

Elsewhere this weekend, and exciting 2YO filly Belitsa makes just her second start at Canterbury on Friday evening, while the rain will hinge on whether Emperor’s Way takes his chance in the Listed Parramatta Cup at Rosehill on Saturday.

Good luck to all owners in the Triple Crown team!
