Redzel named Australian Champion Sprinter
ON THURSDAY evening The Everest winner Redzel added the Australian Sprinter of the Year award to the NSW Sprinter of the Year award won in August, cementing his position as Australia’s Champion sprinter.
Moreover, the son of Snitzel capped a stellar season by being named as runner-up in the Australian Racehorse of the Year award, behind the world’s highest rated horse, Winx, in a glamourous ceremony in Melbourne.
Redzel took the sprinting ranks by storm in 2017/18, winning four Group races from the 1000m to 1200m, including the Group 1 Darley Classic, while also claiming the world’s richest sprint race by winning The Everest in October 2017.
Redzel etched himself into the top five highest earning Australian racehorses in history as he took his career earnings to 8.82 Million, becoming the highest earning Australian sprinter, surpassing Chautauqua’s total.
A massive thank you and congratulations go out to Peter & Paul Snowden and their staff, who work tirelessly preparing Redzel to be in optimum condition for each and every race, and his owners, who enthusiastically and loyally tour the country following their beloved Redzel.
