Revolutionary Miss storms into Blue Diamond contention with Group 2 Prelude win

Triple Crown’s hugely talented two-year-old filly REVOLUTIONARY MISS burst into contention for Saturday weeks’ Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes after storming home to land the Group 2 Fillies Prelude at Caulfield on Saturday.

Ridden to perfection by Michael Dee, the daughter of Russian Revolution produced her customary strong finish to reel in last-start Blue Diamond Preview winner Miss Roseiano by three-quarters-of-a-length, with the same distance back to English Riviera in third.

Winning co-trainer Peter Snowden was effusive in his praise for Revolutionary Miss, before indicating that there is further improvement to come once she steps up to 1200m and beyond.

“With two-year-olds it’s about how they cope with work and pressure of racing, and she’s one that just keeps thriving – she’s eating more, she’s getting stronger, she’s loving whatever we do to her,” he told Racing.com in his post-race interview.

“I’d never had continuity with her – I was always stopping and starting all the time trying to find the right race for her.

“To me, she still wants further yet, so it’s a great result today.”

Revolutionary Miss had created a big impression when going down narrowly on debut at Randwick, before backing that up on her next start with a fast-finishing second in the Group 3 Widden Stakes at Rosehill Gardens.

It takes a special horse to break your maiden at Group 2 level and Revolutionary Miss has already bagged $234,000 in prizemoney for her owners from just three career starts, with the promise of plenty more to come!

Peter & Paul Snowden will now keep her ticking over at their Flemington stables in the lead up to Saturday weeks’ Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes, before making a call on the rest of her preparation after the $1.5 million contest.

“As I said, she’s been in work quite a while – it’s all about keeping her happy, keep her eating well and staying in the shape she’s in now and we’ll be right,” he said.

“She’s there now; it’s a matter of cuddling her.”

Melbourne’s Champion Jockey Jamie Kah has been secured to ride Revolutionary Miss in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes on February 26.
