Snowden Racing top Randwick trainers chart
THE father and son combination of Peter and Paul Snowden have ended an extraordinary season as the top trainers at Randwick.
The training partnership collected a total of $8,987,087 in a season that featured four Group 1 triumphs, with only the powerful Chris Waller stable and former Godolphin trainer John O’Shea earning more prizemoney in New South Wales, and the total is up $700,000 on their haul from last season.
Snowden Racing finished $2.3 Million ahead of Randwick rivals Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.
Triple Crown’s Redzel claimed one of those Group 1 wins with victory in the Doomben 10,000 during a hugely successful Brisbane Winter which also saw the partnership take the final Group 1 of the season, the Tattersall’s Tiara with Tycoon Tara.
That pair have been nominated for the award of NSW Sprinter of the Year at the upcoming Racing’s Night Of Champions on August 17.
Snitzel colts Invader and Russian Revolution added two further Group 1s, with victory in the ATC Sires Produce and Galaxy Handicap.
Congratulations to the Snowden Racing team on another superb season!
