Sam graduated with a Bachelor of Business (marketing and finance major) in 2001 and went on to complete a Master’s in Business Administration. Apart from a 2-year sabbatical playing rugby professionally in the United Kingdom, Sam has spent the last 20 years in financial services, specifically in asset finance sales and relationship management.
At the end of 2022 Sam decided to make a significant career change to join the racing industry and Triple Crown Bloodstock.
Apart from growing up riding stock horses, Sam has a long-term family link to racing. His great grandfather, Newman Manion (N.E) was a director and chairman of the Sydney Turf Club for many years. A race, named in Newman’s honour, is run every year on Golden Slipper Day. The first N.E Manion Cup was run in 1972 and has now been run over 50 times. Sam’s dream is to one day have a share in a horse that win’s this time honoured race.
Sam’s responsibilities include racehorse management, business development and share sales, managing owner and key stakeholder relationships, and running the day-to-day operations of the business.
