Back-to-back winners of The Everest Horse Race in Sydney

The Everest horse race at Royal Randwick in Sydney is the world’s richest race on turf, with a prize pool of $13 million for the 2018 edition of the race.  Triple Crown Syndications’ Redzel, selected and purchased by Chris and Michael Ward, is the winner of the first two runnings of The Everest, as the son of Snitzel took victory in 2017 and 2018 to confirm his position as one of the most formidable sprinters in the world!

A racing experience to remember

TRIPLE CROWN SYNDICATIONS won the first two runnings of The Everest, the world’s richest race on turf, with star sprinter Redzel on October 14, 2017 and October 13, 2018 at Royal Randwick racecourse.

In 2017, the total prize fund for the race comprised $10 Million, while in 2018 this rose to an incredible $13 Million, with those two victories helping Redzel become the second highest earning horse in Australian Racing history, behind only wondermare Winx.

Triple Crown’s owners in Redzel have been on a journey in racehorse ownership that they’ll never forget. In winning the first edition they will forever more be able to say they were the winners of the very first running of The Everest, and in winning the second, they can be the first to say they’ve won it back-to-back, just as legendary racehorse Archer did for the first two runnings of the Melbourne Cup.

The Snowden Racing-trained Redzel, a $120,000 purchase from the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in 2014, has won over $15 Million in prizemoney. Redzel is one of several stable stars for Triple Crown, and will be aiming for a third success in the race for 2019.

Prepared by Grand Final trainers Peter & Paul Snowden to peak perfectly for the race each year, Redzel added his two Everest prizes to his Group 1 victories in the Doomben 10,000 and Darley Classic in 2017, with the son of Snitzel having now won 14 races from 29 starts.

With his run of form the six-year-old has undoubtedly claimed the accolade of Australia’s best sprinter, with plenty more to come!
