The Lad proves Invincible at Gosford

There was plenty of cause for celebration in the lucky last at Gosford this afternoon as INVINCIBLE LAD made a welcome return to the winner’s enclosure.

The son of leading sire I Am Invincible benefited from a peach of a ride by Tommy Berry, defying top weight to notch his third career success in commanding fashion.

Making the most of the inside barrier, Invincible Lad showed his customary gate speed to assume a position on the heels of the leading pair, where he travelled beautifully throughout. Tommy then angled Invincible Lad off the rail as the field approached the bend, before the Inglis Classic Sale purchase let down strongly in the straight to score by half a length.

The win capped a terrific training performance from Peter & Paul Snowden, with Invincible Lad returning to the winner’s enclosure in his first preparation back from a lengthy absence. A special mention also goes to the team at Muskoka Farm, who played a crucial role in his rehabilitation.

Congratulations to all his owners, whose patience has well and truly been rewarded!
