Triple Crown 2YO’s Among First Acceptances for 2015 Golden Slipper

The first round of acceptances for the 2015 $3.5 million Group 1 Tooheys New Golden Slipper have been released with 1,236 babies being paid up for the iconic two-year-old race.

That figure represents a 16.16% increase on last years number of entries for the race, which will be run on Saturday, 21 March 2015. The richest two-year-old race in the world takes its place among five Group 1 races run on the day at Rosehill, including the George Ryder Stakes, Rosehill Guineas, Ranvet Stakes and The Galaxy.

Bringing the race forward from April to March next year will see a period of two weeks established between each leg of the illustrious two-year-old Triple Crown (Group 1 Golden Slipper, Group 1 Sires’ Produce & Group 1 Champagne Stakes), giving the youngsters a little longer to recover between each leg.

Triple Crown Syndications boasts four Golden Slipper runners in the past four years (Hot Snitzel, Cavalry Rose, Charlie Boy & Dothraki), and this year is represented by 15 two-year-olds who have been accepted for the race. Among the first acceptors are 8 two year olds from Peter and Paul Snowden’s stable, 3 with Gerald Ryan, 3 with Peter Moody and 1 withBjorn Baker.
