TRIPLE CROWN BIG GUNS START SPRING CAMPAIGNS
A huge weekend for Triple Crown Syndications with runners featuring in all 3 states along the eastern seaboard this Saturday.
Exciting 3YO son of Smart Missile JERICHO leads out the team at Randwick in the Heritage Stakes at Listed Level. Lightly raced with just the 3 starts for a win and stakes level placing the Peter and Paul Snowden trained runner is sure to make himself known in the quality Sydney 3YO ranks. James McDonald will be legged aboard following two strong trials and with the addition of blinkers for the first time we can expect to see JERICHO focused and doing his best work late.
6YO chestnut gelding DOTHRAKI will be looking to join an elite group of racehorses this weekend. Needing just $8,000 to join the $1,000,000 earners club this son of Mossman out of Volantis is who aptly named after nomadic horseback warriors from hit television show Game Of Thrones will a strong contender this weekend. Benefiting from two strong trials this time in (including a win over mighty mare Winx) DOTHRAKI will be looking to fire his first shot of his spring campaign in the Group 2 ‘The Shorts’ over 1200m.
Rounding out Triple Crown’s Sydney metropolitan contenders, quality mares BRIGADOON RISE and DENPURR will both contest the final event of the day at Randwick. Lining up in the Benchmark 78 both mares will need to overcome contrasting hurdles to take their place on Saturday. DENPURR is crying out for a drying track with this daughter of Denman boasting a very impressive record first up. BRIGADOON RISE is hoping for a number of scratching’s race day morning to fill her spot in this race. Drawn the car park in barrier 16 BRIGADOON RISE has a usual go forward style that has her racing very prominent in her races. Should a number of scratching’s eventuate we can see jockey Kerrin McEvoy mitigate the wide barrier to find a position in the first half of the field and utilise her speed late.
Triple Crown is represented south of the border by the consistent CHARLIE BOY in the Listed Testa Rossa Stakes at Caulfied. Running an exception close second last year in this race CHARLIE BOY will be looking to go one better in the 2016 edition. Drawn poorly in barrier 11 CHARLIE BOY will be restrained early for an economical run in the second half of the field. A noted weight carrier the 59kgs allotted by the Handicap is unlikely to faze this seasoned professional as he commences his spring campaign.
Triple Crown is also represented at Newcastle on Saturday with first starter EMOCLEW. After two recent trials this son of Love Conquers All will be looking to conquer his rivals first up. Blinkers go on for his first run and the benefit of barrier one jockey Mitchell Bell will have options for positions early to settle EMOCLEW and look to feature late.
Rounding out the day for the team in red, the ever consistent BRAZEN MOSS will contest a Class 3 Plate in the last race at Eagle Farm in Brisbane. Relishing the Queensland sun since being transferred for this preparation BRAZEN MOSS has continually featured in the money. Having run 6 seconds and a win in his last 8 starts BRAZEN MOSS will be looking to capitalise here for his owners and conclude a massive day for Triple Crown Syndication.
