Triple Crown Hopes and Dreams at Doomben on Stradbroke Eve
The Triple Crown and Snowden Racing team head to Doomben with two genuine live chances in the $2m Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap tomorrow with Hot Snitzel and Charlie Boy both lining up in the winter carnival feature.
Both arrived in Brisbane in terrific order and trainer Peter Snowden couldn’t be happier with either of them “Hot Snitzel is very bright following his trip from Sydney and is ready for Saturday”.
“Charlie Boy has drawn an ideal barrier and all we need is a bit of luck on race day”.
Charlie Boy firmed to $7 in the betting market after drawing barrier 7 on Wednesday, and although BTC Cup winner Hot Snitzel has drawn awkwardly in barrier 16 (will come in to 13) punters will do well not to dismiss his chances.
Triple Crown owners dusted off suits and fascinators today as pre-race nerves began to kick in for the large contingent that will be track side at Doomben.
Some are fortunate enough to own shares in both Triple Crown syndicates, and aren’t strangers to owning dual Group 1 competitors, having previously raced Dothraki and Charlie Boy in the Triple Crown colours in the 2013 Golden Slipper.
The entire Triple Crown team will be hoping race goers see red as the winner crosses the line in the Stradbroke tomorrow.
Best of luck to all connections!
