Triple Crown on the Hunt for further Stakes success at Scone and beyond

A big two days lay ahead for the Triple Crown team this week as we prepare to field a host of chances in feature races across Australia.

The action kicks off on Friday in the Hunter Valley, where Group-winning stablemates MISSILE MANTRA and REELEM IN RUBY line up alongside one another in the Group 3 Dark Jewel Classic over the 1400m at Scone.

Missile Mantra has travelled north to Sydney after two solid runs down in Melbourne, in which she beat a handy field of sprinters first up before finishing second in the Listed Anniversary Vase. Reelem In Ruby, meanwhile, hasn’t enjoyed the best of luck since her return from injury and is certainly due a good barrier having drawn 17 and 14 on her past two starts.

The two-day scone meeting has been a happy hunting ground for the Triple Crown team in recent years, with Moss Trip winning the Inglis 3YO Guineas in 2018 and Military Zone finishing a gallant runner-up in the same race 12 months later.

This year’s renewal, to be run at Rosehill on Saturday, will see last-start Hawkesbury Guineas winner EXOBOOM bid to follow in Mossy’s footsteps. Exoboom will be joined at Rosehill by stablemates MILITARY ZONE (Listed Luskin Star Stakes) and SMART IMAGE (BM78 Handicap), with the latter also holding a nomination for Flemington on the same day.

The Triple Crown team will also have representation at Doomben on Saturday, where MISTEED bids to end her race career on a high before she goes under the hammer at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale later this month. She is nominated for both the Listed Bright Shadow Stakes (1200m) and the Benchmark 85 Handicap on the card.

Best of luck to connections of all our horses over what is shaping up to be an exciting few days for the Triple Crown team!
