Triple Crown trainer Gerald Ryan takes out the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes

Triple Crown Syndication’s trainer Gerald Ryan celebrated Group 1success at Flemington on Saturday, with 4YO mare Snitzerland (Snitzel-Monte Rosa, by Fraar) scoring by 1/2 length in the $500,000 Gr1 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m).

The Snitzel mare proved victorious over 4YO entire Shamexpress (O’Reilly-Volkrose, by Volksraad) & fellow 4YO mare Samaready (More Than Ready-Samar, by Secret Savings).

This was the first Group 1 victory for Snitzerland who took her record to 8 wins (including the Gr2 Challenge Stakes, Gr2 Danehill Stakes, Gr3 Champagne Stakes, Gr3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes & Gr3 San Domenico Stakes) and 4 placings (including the Gr1 Golden Slipper Stakes & Gr1 Galaxy Handicap) from 17 starts for $1,877,000 earnings.

Snitzerland joins the ranks of Shamus Award and Sizzling, both also by Arrowfield Stud sire Snitzel and have experienced success at Group 1 level.
