Triple Crown’s Flying Snitzel amongst stellar Tristarc lineup

Some of the best mares in Australasia make up 24 nominations in Saturday’s Group 2 Yellowglen Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield tomorrow including Triple Crown’s 4YO Flying Snitzel.

Further key entries in the set weights and penalties feature for the mares include four from the Chris Waller stable; Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara (1400m) winner Red Tracer, Arinosa, Catkins and She’s Clean, dual Group 1winning Kiwi mare Xanadu, Steps In Time, Peron, and Benetta as well as last start Blazer Stakes winner Fire Up Fifi.

It’s certainly not an easy assignment, however Flying Snitzel has proven herself worthy of the company with dominant victories such as those in the Kewney Stakes, and Schweppervescence where she defeated Group 1 winners Norzita and Dear Demi.

She has trained on well following her excusable run in the Blazer Stakes and trainer Gerald Ryan is confident of a strong showing this weekend.

“She proved once again (in the Blazer Stakes) that she cannot be ridden close to the speed, prvoding she’s ridden quietly I expect she will be very competitive in this race” he reported.

With Flying Snitzel starting from barrier 5 the Triple Crown and Gerald Ryan team are hopeful the likes of Steps In Time, Meliora and Catkins, who are all drawn wide, will produce sufficient speed and enable Damien Oliver to switch the mare off throughout the trip, thereby giving her every opportunity of unleashing her devastating turn of foot down the straight.

Many of Flying Snitzels tribe of ever loving owners make the trip to Melbourne tomorrow for another memorable Spring Racing experience on Caulfield Cup Day, no doubt they’ll be dreaming of the winners circle, trophys and champagne tonight!
